Frederick Albert Kingshott
Frederick Albert Kingshott was a Private in the Royal Sussex Regiment. His service number was G/4742.
Frederick was born around 1886 in the village of South Stoke, Sussex. His parents were George & Sarah Kingshott from Fernhurst, Sussex. He had three siblings, Arthur, Margaret and William George. Fred was the youngest. His mother died when he was young, and his father remarried. From this latter union, Fred had another eight half-siblings.
Fred never married and joined the Great War as part of the British Expeditionary Force. He enlisted at Chichester, Sussex and first went to the front line on 31st May 1915.
Frederick Albert Kingshott was killed in action on 24th March 1916. He is buried in Vermelles Cemetery, France. He was entitled to the 1914-15 Star, The British War medal and the Victory Medal.
